Happy Birthday to a Sassy Girl

Welcome back ... This card was made for The Outlawz' Paper ala Mode challenge for today, running for a week.  The theme was Anything Goes ... We were asked to use images from Sassy Studios, I chose the Birthday Cake one.
This was digital image was printed on Cryogen Irridescent and colored with Copics.
I used Stampin Up cardstock (pink pirouette and perfect plum).
Designer papers were from Bearly Mine Designs paper packs, Black & White Essentials, Happy Hauntings and Mini Dots.
The doily is SU pink pirouette cut with one of my new dies from LaLaLand, heart doily border - loving it!!

I sponged all the layers with perfect plum ink, as well as stamped the sentiment before finishing off with pearls.
 Here's a close up ...

Hope you like it ... head over to The Outlawz' Saturday Paper ala Mode challenge to see what the other DT members came up with, and to submit your own creation.

Hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving spent with those you love.
Have a wonderful week!

Pretty in Pink Christmas

Such a sweet image - and I love the way it looks in the pink ... All Dressed Up is having their first Facebook challenge - the theme is Christmas.

This particular image is called All Dressed Up for Christmas, and can be found in their Etsy shop:  All Dressed Up.

I colored this lovely with Copics and then added some clear glitter Gelli Roll to outline her wings and accent her skirt, as if to make it sparkly tulle.  When I got done, the image looked so crisp, I wanted to keep the layers neat and clean with little frou-frou.

I tilted the card - not the best photograph, but shows you how the skirt and wings are accented with the sparkle.

I used Pretty in Pink and Pomegranate papers from Stampin Up, as well as digital designer paper from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Ice paper pack.

Here's a close up of the pretty little thing ... Check out All Dressed Up's Etsy page as well as their Facebook page for more fun and samples of the different images.

Check out Kit and Clowder's Facebook page this weekend, too ... In honor of hitting 5000 subscribers, Alyce is throwing a party with lots of fun.  It's too late to get a Bingo card, but there will be lots more going on that you can participate in.

It's the day after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday" as we know it here in the
States, and I plan on hibernating ... unless of course I run out of my tape runner ...
Should have known to check supplies before the weekend.
I have back ups, but I just love my little Tombow runners.

Have a wonderful day ... Stay safe if you go out shopping
and don't be an aggressive shopper ;).
Hugs to all,

Sad news about Bearly Mine Designs' Digital Papers

Heartbreaking news - Donna, of Bearly Mine Designs, has decided to close her doors effective December 31, 2014 based on new European VAT laws that will be take effect on January 1st.
http://bearlymine-challenges.blogspot.com/p/the-shop.html

Very sad news, as I've come to use her digital papers almost exclusively lately.  She is having a 50% off all paper packs sale, however, until the end of the year.

Elfie Elizabeth

Welcome to this week's Paper ala Mode challenge at The Outlawz!

This week, our sponsor was Art by Miran ... and our TWIST was to use something metal on the card.  Art by Miran has some really adorable images, you'll have to check them out.

I chose to color up Elfie Elizabeth with Copics.  After coloring her, I decided to go tradition red 'n green ...

I used some Stampin Up cardstock (garden green & cobbler) along with some beautiful holiday digital papers from Bearly Mine Designs - 3 different paper packes:
Christmas Traditions
Christmas Frolics
Happy Hauntings

I sponged all the edges of papers with cobbler ink and added some fern leaves and the sentiment, cut from the Silhouette ...

Here's a close up of Elfie ...

Head over to The Outlawz to check out the rest of the Design Team's samples, and put your own in ...

Thanks for stopping by ...
Have a wonderful weekend!

How's about a cuppa?

I have two cards to share with you today ...

This first one is an image from Saturated Canary called Latte ... Didn't realize how much I like pink, but think it really worked for this card.  As usual, I used Copics to color her.

Papers used were Stampin' Up Pink Pirouette and Celery cardstocks.  The designer papers are digital from Bearly Mine Designs' Pastel Christmas (the snowflake & plaid layers) ... the floral layer, I can't find which pack it came from.

Before I cut out the image panel, I sprinkled some Stampendous Shabby Blue embossing enamel (has bits of white & gold embossing powder with some blue glitter mixed in).  After using the creative memories oval cutting system (just always gives me the right size for the images I print out), I used the Silhouette Cameo for the snowflakes and ornament.  I added some shabby blue embossing to the image panel then sponged all the layers with Pretty in Pink from Stampin' Up.  Once it was all laid down, I added some fruit punch and diamond Stickles to the ornament and added the pink bakers twine.

Here's a close up ...

For the second card, I made another snowman card - this is the image I made for The Outlawz challenge a couple of weeks ago before realizing the color combo was supposed to be purple/teal ... The image is from Squigglefly, and can be found here, called Which  List Snowman ...

This was also colored with Copics and then fussy cut around the list to make it look like it was coming off the page.  Cardstock was from Stampin Up, cherry cobbler and bashful blue - I love the way the pastel blue looks with the red ... something different.
The designer paper is from Bearly Mine Designs.  I first printed red from their Mini Dots paper pack, then used the script from their Black and White pack.  The blue layer is from their gingham pack.  I finished it off with some embellishments cut with the Silhouette Cameo ...

Here's a close up ...

Hope you like them both ...
Looks like I may be sending Christmas cards out this year, lol.
Have a WONDERFUL day!

Crayons anyone?

Okay, so I'm not a crayon person ... love almost every other coloring medium out there ... this had me struggling a bit ...

Over at Kit and Clowder's Facebook page, Alyce Keegan is having a crayon coloring challenge ... I will admit my first two went straight into the garbage, as I was way to heavy handed and the wax was just 'gloppy' (I know, not a word, lol) ... that waxy stuff just doesn't want to go where I want it to go, lol ... Trick was to be light handed ... Used a bunch of my old school cross hatching that I used when I used to draw.  Think the results were way better this third time around.

Never mind that Arial's hair isn't quite this pink, but even out of 64 crayolas, I couldn't find the right orangey/red shade I wanted ... but this is as good as its going to get ...

Thanks, Alyce for making me go outside my comfort zone, lol.

Try something like this - it was truly a challenge, but this last one wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Snow Fairy Frost

Oh my gosh, it's colder than a ... well, it's pretty darned cold here.  It's only mid-November, and the temperature has already dropped to 5 degrees (F*).  I'm not ready for the cold yet ...

I guess the cold was good for one thing today, though ... it reminded me that I'd had this adorable image from Mo's Digital Pencil called Winter Fairy Halla that needed some color ... As usual, I used my beloved Copics to color this cutie up.  I used my spellbinders to cut him out and then fussy cut the swirls of frost he's blowing out.

The cardstock is Stampin Up (bashful and ballet) with a little bit of white cardstock from Staples for the snowflakes & whatnot.  The designer papers are from Bearly Mine Designs' Pastel Christmas paper pack.  I really like the way the plaid and snowflake paper go together.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the corner flourish w/ornaments, snowflakes and "joy".  The white parts I sponged with some bashful SU ink to soften them a bit.  I colored the 2 star ornaments with Copics and then added some Glossy Accents to make them shine.  I also added a bit of Stampendous' shabby blue, sprinkled around the image.  I also did the same treatment to the white layer of 'joy', a little thicker though, so it looks a bit marble-y.

Here's another view that shows the shiny ornaments a bit more ...

Here's a close up of the image:
Is this not a SWEET image or what?

Copics Used:
     Skin:  E04,11,21,00,000,R20
     Hair:  E37,35,YR23,21
     Blues:  B04,02,00,000,0000 with BV11
     C3,1,00

Totally enjoyed coloring this one up and putting it all together.
Hope you enjoy it as well.
Have a wonderful day!

All Dressed Up for the Ballet

I may just get a batch of Christmas cards done this year to send out ... Woot!

This adorable image is from All Dressed Up, called Ballerina.  She was colored with Copics (see list below).  After she was cut out, I fussy cut around her legs and skirt to leave a little bit of her 'hanging off the edge' ... I've been doing that a bit lately, and I actually really like it ... what do you think ?

I used some digital papers from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Tradition paper pack with some Stampin Up cardstock (garden green & cobbler).  The snowflake and "hohoho" were cut with the Silhouette Cameo.  I added a strip of scalloped lace and some pearls.

Once again, I kept layering a bit simpler - While I can build a card and make it 3-dimensional, I worry sometimes that people seeing elaborately made cards might become intimidated and discouraged.  I'm also always thinking about mailing my cards - can I put them in an envelope, or do I have to get a box and pay more postage?  Either way, I like to think that my cards are interesting without too much frou frou ... That being said, I do love those cards/projects that are embellished to the hilt, such a dilemma!

Here's a close up:
Copics Used:

     Green:  G16,09,14,20

I'm planning on submitting this card for the All Dressed Up design team call

Hope you enjoyed the card ... Come back and see what else I have tomorrow.
Have a WONDERFUL day!

Mary Christmas

Good afternoon everyone ... Making a dent in Christmas cards today ...

This beautiful image is a new release from Saturated Canary, called Mary.

I colored her with Copics.  Papers used were from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Frolics set.  Cardstock is from Stampin' Up (cobbler), and unknown green.  The sentiment is digi from Sweet & Sassy set called Jesus is the Reason that I punched out and mounted on snowflakes cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

Here's a close up ...

Copics Used:

Emmers' Jr. Achievement

This card is for my god daughter for receiving her Jr. Achievement award.  She's such a hard worker and excels at academics and sports alike, with equal abandon.  And to top it off, she's a very sweet young lady.
The image is Jordana from Saturated Canary that I colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy.  Papers are from Bearly Mine Design's The Boy Zone and Marlo Dee.  I finished with sponging the inside of the die for the oval, added a grosgrain ribbon and some half pearls.  I love the way some of the sentiment floats off the page.

Here's a close up:

The Outlawz Snowmen Challenge 11-15-14

Here is my DT card for The Outlawz' Saturday Paper ala Mode challenge.  This week's sponsor was Squigglefly and we were asked to use something with a snowman on it, as well as use TEAL and PURPLE on the card ... check, check and check!
This image is called Which List Snowman ... He's looking to see which list you're on, the Naughty one or the Nice one ... So which is it?

I colored him with Copics and layered him on some Stampin Up's eggplant envy.  The background papers are from Bearly Mine Designs' Christmas Memories pack.  I'm not sure where the blue came from, I think it might have been a freebie from long ago, but it was teal, and worked perfect for this.

Because of the design on the paper, I left this one pretty simple.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the Christmas tree and then added gold Stickles for ornaments.  I also added some diamond Stickles dotted on the image panel to simulate snow.

I can't find the color list for the copics used, but I know the purples were the V17,15,12 range.

Copics used:
"Teal":  BG18,15,13,11
Purples:  V09,17,15,12
Boots:  N9,7,5
"white":  C3,1,00 (R30 cheeks)
List:  E53,50
Misc:  YR09,04, E35,33

Hope you can head over to The Outlawz and join in on this challenge or any others.  They have a new challenge every day of the week, and they are switched up weekly, so there's always a challenge to join.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
